Project Scope:
Base Phase II Services to include preparation of structural design and details for the installation of two new mechanically cleaned bar screen and one manually cleaned bar screen in the existing influent channel to the Headworks facility. Preparation of structural drawings showing support system (as required) for screenings wash/dewatering conveyors and collection system. Preparation of structural design and details for the construction of a bypass around the existing bar screens. Since there are four existing influent channels, it is proposed that three of the existing channels be used to house the bar screen and the fourth channel be used for the bypass. Preparation of structural technical specifications based on City and COM standards. Additional Phase II Services will include performing evaluation of the condition in the existing concrete Headworks Influent channels. The evaluation will include a visual inspection of the existing concrete. Based on the outcome of the visual inspection up to three cores will be collected from the channels and a petrographic analysis performed. Prepare memorandums summarizing the results of this evaluation and provide a recommendation for restoring the integrity of the concrete. Develop a design for constructing a new corrosion resistant lining on the influent channels that will a) restore potentially damaged concrete and b) provide a corrosion resistant lining to protect the concrete from future corrosion. Coordinate with a crane inspection/service firm for evaluating the condition of two existing overhead monorail/hoists inside of the Headworks facilities. Prepare a memorandum summarizing the results of the inspection and provide recommendations for restoring the operation of these lifting devices. Provide surveying services as required to tie existing plant elevations to the City's current datum. Survey depth of solids accumulation in the existing clarifier influent channels.
